At one point, the second generation Apple TV was the most popular device for running Kodi. It was the first device to really make it easy to use Kodi directly from the comfort of your living room television, but it had its limitations. As of the Kodi 14.2 Helix release, Kodi support for the Apple TV 2 has been discontinued, it can still be installed, but will not be updated.
Apple never intended for Kodi to be installed to the Apple TV 2 device, so the first thing you’ll have to do is jailbreak your device. Once you’ve jailbroken your Apple TV 2 device, it’s fairly simple to get Kodi installed, although lately the Kodi installation servers for the Apple TV 2 have been running a bit slowly, you might have to try a few times before it works.

Step 7: Once you see a green checkmark your Apple TV 2 should automatically reboot itself.
Step 8: Launch Kodi from your Apple TV 2 for the first time.
Now that you have Kodi installed to your Apple TV 2 device, you should go ahead and see which Kodi addons best suit your needs. Remember that the Apple TV 2 has limited resources, so you’re best to stick with only installing the Kodi addons you actually need.

That should resolve your issue, Kodi should now appear on the second row of the main menu on your Apple TV 2 box. Now you’ll want to go ahead and get some Kodi addons installed, but keep in mind that resources are limited on the Apple TV 2, so less is definitely more.
